Demonstration Against tree cutting in the center of Nicosia
On the 22/03/08 we took part in a demonstration against tree cutting in the center of Nicosia. The municipality is planning to cut many more trees to widen roads and make the place more "European". Instead of discouraging cars in town they are encouraging more and more as well as destroying the little greenery that is left which filters the towns air.

Anti War Demonstration
We took part in an anti-war demonstration which happened on the 22/03/08 and brought with us a banner that wrote "We are all Terrorists" and marched up to the American embassy together with other antiwar supporting organizations. We shouted slogans against war, capitalism and the police. At one point the police tried to block us from coming closer to the embassy by pushing us but they couldn't hold us back and we continued until getting to the fenced part on the other side close to the main entrance. The demo ended peacefully.

No Borders - Ledra street
On the 21/03/08 the Anti-Authoritarian Autonomous Action (Ada-kiprus), took part in an event for the opening of Ledra street border which has been a symbol of separation between Greek speaking Cypriots and Turkish speaking Cypriots when the UN drew a line with a green pencil. A banner was brought that wrote "No Borders No Nations No Armies". The police at first tried to stop us putting it up but the people complained and the banner was set up on the left side of the event. Small cardboard banners where put up with slogans like "here is Berlin", "Our only nation is all of earth", "all governments are fake-governments" and "We want Ekmek Kateifi(Turkish cake)". Also, fliers where given out which wrote: "No plan from 'above' will bring a solution", "Autonomy - Resistance" "Greek Cypriot - Turkish Cypriot Workers United" and informed people about a demonstration against Irak war which would take place the next day.
